Question via Facebook :
What made you want to become a writer, and what is the hardest part?
Well, originally I wanted to be a graphic novelist. I studied art at a college where “comics” were not considered art, or worthy of teaching. It was rather boring on the drawing end, but I still loved the story aspect.
I felt like I had so many ideas for stories, and I still wanted to tell them, even if I hadn’t been trained at all in writing. I minored in English lit, with a focus on world mythology (which probably is pretty prevalent in my work).
The hardest part is just to keep writing, refine, rewrite, refine, rewrite, until it becomes something I’m happy with. It’s always important to make your audience happy, but your work should make you happy first.
